Atlanta Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher 6-Year Maintenance
As part of the “NFPA –10” Portable Fire Extinguisher requirements, a 6-year maintenance must be performed on all stored pressure dry chemical fire extinguishers. Hall Fire Protection, Inc. fire extinguisher technicians can perform this maintenance for you “on site” with no extra down time or transportation expense.
OSHA Code of Federal Regulation:
Requires adequate and reliable illumination for all exits.
Requires proper maintenance to insure that exit lighting is in continuously proper operating condition.
NFPA 70 – National Electric Code:
Requires specific illumination and performance of emergency and exit lights.
Provides functional standards for battery-powered emergency and exit lighting.
NFPA 101 – Life Safety Code:
Requires a monthly inspection of all emergency and exit lighting systems.
Requires an annual test of all emergency and exit lighting systems.
International Fire Code:
Requires proper illumination of means of egress. Requires assurance that emergency and exit lighting systems will provide illumination for at least 60 minutes.

Atlanta Fire Extinguisher Classes and Live Fire Training
Training is a very large part of fire protection. If your employees are not familiar with the proper use and operation of a portable fire extinguisher, then the fire extinguisher is nothing more than a big paperweight. We can come to your facility and train your staff in the proper use of all types of fire extinguishers and fire suppression equipment located in your facility. We offer instruction in a classroom setting and then, if you wish, can proceed outside to a live fire set up where your staff can actually take turns using what they’ve learned in class to extinguish a live fire.
OHSA Regulatory Requirements:
OSHA 1910.157(g)(1) – Annual Training for Incipient Fire:
Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting.
The employer shall provide the education required in paragraph (g)(1) of this section upon initial employment and at least annually thereafter.
The employer shall provide employees who have been designated to use fire-fighting equipment as part of an emergency action plan with training in the use of the appropriate equipment.
The employer shall provide the training required in paragraph (g)(3) of this section upon initial assignment to the designated group of employees and at least annually thereafter.
